All Corico Education resource material has been provided by Dr. Corina Lupu (DVM, AVBP, Avian), who has made a lifetime commitment to educating exotic bird lovers. Her professional commitment to exotic bird education is demonstrated by her successful avian veterinary practice in Montreal, and a global reputation as a leading avian speaker and educator.

Dr. Lupu graduated in Veterinary medicine in 1977 from the University of Montreal and has owned and operated her own avian veterinary practice since 1978.  Her commitment to exotic bird education has been demonstrated in countless ways. Her first book “For the love of your bird” was published in 1987. Her two “Love your bird” DVDs and her new book “Le Perroquet : le connaitre et l’aimer” are the culmination of a lifetime of work to protect and care for these fascinating and loveable pets.

Even though Dr. Lupu’s personal pet is Pearl the palm cockatoo, she has worked with virtually every type of exotic pet bird on the planet.  At one time or another African grey parrots, parakeets (budgeregar), pionous, lory, macaw, parrotlett, conure, lovebird, cockatiel, amazon, senegal, quaker, caique, ecclectus, and meyers have all come through her veterinary practice.  Plus she has been called upon to treat and care for wild birds including grosbeaks, waxbills, swallows, starlings, blackbirds, crows, jays, flickers, woodpeckers, pigeons, herons, geese, ducks, kingfishers and raptors.
